According to Tepco, they received 115.1 billion yen from the Nuclear Damage Liability Facilitation Fund on 6/24/2013.
They received 2.6 trillion yen of financial support for compensation payouts so far but they will run out of the fund by this July to prove the high cost performance of nuclear power.
They reported this below,
Today, we received 115.1 billion yen from the Nuclear Damage Liability Facilitation Fund (hereafter the Fund) based on the revised Special Business Plan (Comprehensive Special Business Plan) approved on February 4, 2013.
This financial support was given in response to our seventeenth request made in order to cover the compensation payouts to be completed by the end of July 2013, as the sum of the compensation received in accordance with the “Act on Contract for Indemnification of Nuclear Damage Compensation” (120 billion yen) and the financial support provided by the Fund (2.6097 trillion yen) will not be sufficient for the total amount of payouts.
With the financial support received from the Fund, we will continue our utmost efforts in implementing the “compensation payouts with courtesy and compassion” in consideration of those afflicted by the nuclear damage.
