An earthquake of M4.3 occurred in Southern part of Ibaraki prefecture at 17:27 of 8/24/2014 (JST), according to Japan Meteorological Agency.
The maximum seismic intensity was 3 in Tokyo.
One of Fukushima Diary readers experienced the quake in Tokyo and commented that it was very short, felt like something exploded underground.
Additionally, a news flash announced another earthquake happened “Fukushima offshore” at 17:52:57 of the same day (JST).
Magnitude was supposed to be 4.4, however it is not listed on the website of Japan Meteorological Agency and any other websites to collect information from their website for some reason. At this moment, Fukushima Diary hasn’t gotten any more details about this second quake.
