On 3/17/2016, Tepco announced they are going to start scanning Reactor 2 with Muon detecting system from the end of March.
Reactor 2 was already scanned by Nagoya University to confirm the possible remaining fuel is significantly small compared to Reactor 5, which was officially reported last March.
It is not clear why Tepco has to implement the same investigation again, and none of the media has questioned it as long as Fukushima Diary researched.
Tepco comments the investigation would take several months.
