(Before It's News)

This factory in Dalian, Liaoning Province is abandoned now, but it has a murky past. Dalian-based online media we54.com posted this footage. They say this was the Von Hagens Dalian Plastination Co. That factory—which turned dead bodies into exhibition models—had generated millions of dollars of income. According to this sign on the front door, it was “sealed” or sequestered on February 29th this year. The Dalian media went to the factory's location after recent media reports, including those by NTD, that Gu Kailai and Bo Xilai—China's former high-flying political couple—may have been involved in the selling of bodies to the factory, or others like it. Bo was the mayor of Dalian when the factory was set up. These “body factories” were controversial overseas because of questions over where the bodies came from. And Chinese netizens are now also asking the same thing. A search for “Dalian corpses” on microblog Sina Weibo turns up more than 34000 results. This video on the plant has been viewed nearly 55000 times, with viewers asking why the plant was allowed in the first place, and how much Chinese officials knew. NTD Senior China analyst Heng He says Chinese authorities may be trying to hide those answers. Deutsche Welle reported that the plant closed at some point in 2011. But it was officially sequestered in February 2012, less than a month after Bo Xilai's former right-hand man Wang Lijun fled to a US Consulate with information on his boss. [Heng He, NTD Senior China
