The license of an elderly man who drove his car and caravan the wrong way down a busy highway in Melbourne has been suspended, his lawyer said on Monday. In February 2012, Ronald Jackson drove down a motorway for some 7.5 miles in the opposite direction of traffic. His drive was captured on closed circuit television. Jackson's lawyer, Peter Flynn, said that Jackson had suffered a stroke prior to the incident, which may have caused confusion. [Peter Flynn, Jackson's Lawyer]: “(He'd) never driven badly before, he was under some health issues and he won't be driving again in Victoria.” The octogenarian has had his license for 63 years and passed a refresher course relatively recently. According to his lawyer, his only previous traffic offense was a speeding ticket, some 30 years ago.
