Prince Andrew descended the Shard skyscraper, Europe's tallest building, in London on Monday for charity. The Duke of York began his stunt from the 87th floor, just below the top of the 1016ft tower – and finished half-an-hour later on level 20. He said he had felt scared as he began his descent. [Andrew, Duke of York]: “I was scared at the top. Humm, yes. Mostly because the very nice man who dispatched us at the top said 'a bit of condensation up here and the windows are wet so you will just slide for the first few. And he said, if you, if you slip or fall against the window, it maybe ungainly but use your knees. And he was right. I slipped the whole way doesn't the first section, because well, when we first started it was in mist at the top.” The 52-year-old royal was one of around 40 people to lower themselves to raise money for educational charity the Outward Bound Trust and the Royal Marines Charitable Trust Fund.
