Renowned Chinese rights activist Hu Jia has been forced to leave Beijing ahead of the Communist Party's 18th Party Congress next week. Still, he continues to speak out against the rights abuses being committed by Chinese authorities. Currently in Anhui province, Hu Jia has condemned the Chinese regime over allegations that it has been pillaging and selling organs from political prisoners. [Hu Jia, Chinese Rights Activist] “Forced organ harvesting from living people… It really has gone above and beyond what humanity can tolerate, it's akin to the devil. I really believe so.” The issue of forced organ harvesting has gained increasing global attention this year. In February, after Chinese official Wang Lijun fled to the US consulate, there were unconfirmed reports that he had provided evidence to US officials about the Chinese regime killing adherents of the Falun Gong spiritual practice for their organs. In October, 106 members of US Congress signed a joint letter asking the State Department to release any information it might have on these allegations. Hu Jia says these developments in the US are significant.
