Description: As Charles and Camilla touch down in Australia, the Prince admits the jet-lag is getting to him… Full Story Prince Charles and his wife, Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, arrived in Australia on Monday as part of their 13-day Diamond Jubilee Pacific tour. First stop was the small town of Longreach in the state of Queensland. The Royal couple watched a demonstration by the Royal Flying Doctor Service at the Qantas Museum Hangar. They also toured the Stockman's Hall of Fame, a museum dedicated to the cattle trade. Camilla briefly held a baby Red Kangaroo. Later in the day the Prince sported a traditional Akubra hat, as he met local families at a community barbecue. [Prince Charles, Britain's Prince of Wales]: “It is more than 15 and a half thousand kilometers from London to the Stockman's Hall of Fame and I'm so jet-lagged that I feel a few sausages short of a barbie.” Prince Charles said it was the Duchess of Cornwall's first official visit to Australia, and admitted to being caught out by the country's strict customs and quarantine regulations when they arrived.
