World’s Fast Robot Unveiled in China

Whether it's Ping-Pong ball or light saber fighting, there's not a lot robots can't do these days. Since 1999, the five-day China International Industry Fair is a chance to showcase the latest developments in China's industrial robotics. This year, the stand out was the “Dragon.” He's the world's fastest industrial robot. It makes computer mice and according to CCTV, weighs as much as a 7-year-old child. [Li Gang, President of the ABB Robot Division in China]: “Robots were mainly used in such productive operations as welding. But now, more and more robots are applied in assembling and day-to-day living fields.” It's not just work and no play though. Robots here also showed off their kung-fu skills, and took time out for a game of Ping-Pong. More than 60 domestic and foreign companies and research institutes are showcasing hundreds of their newest robots here.
