San Diego Zoo's super cute baby panda Xiao Liwu gets some serious cuddles as he undergoes his regular health inspection. Full Story: Ever wanted your own real life panda cub to cuddle and play with? San Diego Zoo's baby panda Xiao Liwu is getting all the love, as he has his regular health check up. Now more than five months old, the panda is gaining weight and is very healthy, weighing in at 19.4 pounds. [Matt Kinney, Resident Veterinarian, San Diego Zoo]: “Xiao Liwu is extremely well muscled. You can tell that his hind limbs are nice and lean, probably from climbing on exhibits. The other thing that was noticeable is how agile he was.” Vets carefully checked the cub's eyes, teeth, heart and lungs, keeping him content with lots of love and tickles. The San Diego Zoo's giant pandas are on a research loan from the People's Republic of China. Xiao Liwu is on display to the public at the zoo two hours every day.
