Abu Rudeineh: Resettlement and Alternative Homeland are Outright Rejected
http://english.wafa.ps/index.php?action=3Ddetail&id=3D24407
RAMALLAH, February 24, 2014 (WAFA) =96 Presidential Spokesperson, Nabil Abu =
Rudeineh, said =93We are on the same page with King Abdallah II; that Jorda=
n =
is Jordan and Palestine is Palestine. Resettlement and alternative homeland =
are outright rejected,=94 said Abu Rudeineh.
Abu Rudeineh=92s statements came on the heels of statements made by the =
Jordanian King Abdallah II, rejecting that his country would serve as an =
alternative homeland for Palestinian refugees.
He described the Palestinian Jordanian relations as distinct and historical =
and said they are based on full mutual confidence and coordination in all =
relevant issues.
He added: =93President Mahmoud Abbas=92s strategy is based on around the cl=
ock =
consultation and coordination with Jordan,’ stressing their mutual agreemen=
t =
regarding the terms of reference of the peace process.
=93Our shared policy is based on a two-state solution and East Jerusalem as =
the capital of the Palestinian state.=94
This comes amid growing concerns among the Jordanians about the possible =
impacts of the US Secretary of State, John Kerry=92s proposed framework =
agreement and what will be its effect on Jordan.
