As state powers encroach ever more brazenly on individual freedoms, as globalization threatens national sovereignty in a dozen bloody crises at once, and as religious institutions reel under an avalanche of scandals, it is all too easy for those dedicated to defending sacred values and human freedom to feel like a lonely knight errant on a mad quest. Until now, such souls have had to find moral, spiritual, and strategic support where they could, while perhaps casting their eyes back nostalgically to a time when a quest to defend human freedom and protect sacred knowledge could look to a brotherhood of knights bound to ideals that stirred the soul, nurtured by direct communion with the Divine.
But in the 400 years since Don Miguel de Cervantes gave us the immortal comic figure of Don Quixote tilting at windmills, knighthood – and especially the potent blend of the “warrior-monk” – has been a matter either for satire, or for fantasy adventure, rather than a potent force for good in a darkening world.
But no longer. Welcome to the rebirth of chivalry.
Incredibly, it turns out that not only is chivalry not dead, but that chivalry’s most famous knightly order still exists – and has, in fact, functioned in secret through the centuries since the French persecution of 1307 forced the order underground. And it has now stepped forward openly – in full legitimacy – in support of the quest to protect human freedom, to defend the oppressed, to share openly the long-suppressed Gnostic teachings of the Order, to champion the right of each soul to seek and find the Divine, and to shine the penetrating light of Truth in the face of corruption itself.

Yes, that Order – The Knights Templar, of Da Vinci Code fame, keepers of The Secret of the popular documentary film, of legendary esoteric teachings, the pious warrior-monks who eventually bonded in chivalry with their Muslim enemies, invented the working foundations of the modern banking system, revered St. Mary Magdalene, and were brutally suppressed by the envious French King Phillip IV.
This remarkable historic event of the Templars’ re-emergence provides (among other things) the answer to the Da Vinci Code’s burning question – “Where did the Templars go in the year 1307 when the King of France assassinated two Popes and threatened a third in order to carry out a brutal suppression of the Order by a Vatican Inquisition?
The historical record documents that some two thousand of the Templar knights escaped in eighteen ships just before the trap was sprung, fleeing to Scotland with their secrets and their treasure, and to Switzerland (where the national flag may be seen to bear the Templar emblem in reverse), where they continued to function as a secret society, still devoted to sharing sacred knowledge with those who had made themselves ready.

Their legend persisted through the ages, inspiring George Lucas in his creation of the Jedi Knights of Star Wars – the chivalric order whose name is derived from the ancient Egyptian word Djedhi, meaning “of the Djed Pillar,” which symbolized the human spine, or moral backbone of a warrior-monk.
A Templar prophecy current at the time of the persecution predicted that the order would emerge from the shadows after the passage of a specific number of biblical generations – a term which, curiously enough, pegs the date for the order’s reappearance to the year 2013.
There are, of course, numerous modern knightly orders and secret societies which claim links to the Templar Knights, most notably the Freemasons. The Sovereign Magistral Order of the Temple of Solomon does not seek to discredit any such orders, and acknowledges the good intentions (where they exist) of their members, their separate and distinctive traditions, and their potential contributions to charitable causes.
The Knights of the original 12th Century Order are quite specific, however, in disavowing any connection to the modern Masonic movement, which began as a 15th Century offshoot, and thereafter has a completely separate development. So just who are these knights, and why are they re-emerging at this moment?
First of all, here’s who they’re not. They’re not into secret handshakes, midnight meetings, cool hats and aprons, or the indiscriminate bestowal of fancy titles to the “Grand Poobah” of the local bowling league. They’re not looking to dedicate the cornerstone of your new public library in a fancy ceremony invoking the mystique of George Washington, and they’re most definitely not into secretly controlling the world by exerting sinister influence from behind the scenes. And they are emphatically, unequivocally not of the globalist agenda.
Freedom, sovereignty, tolerance of diversity, and respect for the sacred knowledge of humanity are their watchwords. Briefly put, they seek to make themselves humble instruments of God in the service of humanity, as exemplified by their ancient motto –Non nobis Domine, Nomine Tuo da gloriam. “Not unto us, O Lord, but to Thy Name be the glory”…
After seven hundred years of secrecy in the wake of the brutal French persecution of 1307, the Knights have chosen this pivotal moment to emerge from the shadows in support of critical missions needed to prevent the forces of godlessness from achieving dominion over our planet. Since the earliest origins of knightly Orders, the core essence of knighthood itself has always been the principle of social justice. The legendary archetype of the “Knight in shining armor” is a reflection of the public perception of chivalry throughout the ages. This reputation was rightfully earned, by steadfastly defending the innocent against all injustice.
To use the strength of one’s God-given talents to balance the scales of justice, to uphold the rights of those who are unable to fight for themselves, is the most essential character of a Knight. The Templar heritage of Gnostic wisdom, of methods of direct communion with the Divine, are freely shared with men and women of all faiths, who are encouraged to remain true to their own spiritual and cultural heritage, while purifying their lives and devoting time to meditation, and to service.
Does the Order truly have a credible lineal connection to the original? It is easy enough to set up a website, design some cool regalia, hand out fancy titles, and style yourself as “Knights Templar”. The knights of this order are persons of distinguished accomplishment, deep scholarship, high-caliber global impact, and patriotic service to their respective countries in national security issues. The fact that they have been granted official recognition as a public re-emergence of the original order by a lineal descendant of King Fulk of Jerusalem, who first chartered the original order in the year 1118, and are now a nation-state subject of international law is a powerful fact, and places them in a position to be of great service to the work of helping to free humanity.
Clarity of Mission: A self-appointed mission to preserve the esoteric teachings is also a fairly easy pose – especially if you keep the teachings secret, and make it about a long climb to high degrees as you look down on the less-grandly-initiated among your brethren. None of that here. No thirty three degrees – just the open sharing of a profound wealth of sacred teachings in the context of an unbroken chivalric tradition of sacred service.

The ancient Templars’sacred quest for the Grail stands revealed as a quest to balance (within each human soul and in the world soul as well) the long-dominant masculine principle with the healing, nurturing, intuitive, forgiving, and receptive qualities of the divine feminine. Rather than heralding a new imbalance of a dominant feminine principle, the ancient gnostic truths have always centered on the path toward integration and balance: to blend within each soul (according to each one’s unique nature and destiny) the assertive and logical masculine principle with the intuitive and forgiving feminine. Only through such balance can we hope to truly heal our world, and ourselves. Accordingly, the Order honors the sacred differences between the sexes, while according equal status and participation to both in the life and work of the Order itself.

There is crucial work to be done to free ourselves – now, here, today, in this instant. I love how secret societies r “for the good of humanity”. How then do you explain y the last grand master of the Templars Jacques De Molay was burned at the stake in France. He must have done alot of good. Both Freemasons n Templars reference to Solomons Temple or his father David which the Temple was created for even though was not to have one for he was a murderer. Things that are a secret are hidden from the light. And no matter how they start end up doing Devils work Templars began in Jerusalem led to crusades (War) got involved in banking (usury) led to control n undoing, just like today new name same result.
