The one US Army manual everyone needs to know; FM 7-8

Now known as FM 3-21.8 aka FM 7-8 (I’m showing my age), this manual is the basics for small unit tactics. 602 pages and a good portion won’t apply but the parts that do will be indispensable. This manual should be easily available from a local Army surplus store or if you need to order online or download. Having a copy you can slip into a cargo pocket is a must. You shouldn’t count on an old veteran uncle or friend of a friend to show you what to do, start learning now. This won’t teach you how to become Rambo but it will give you the basics of how to organize and execute in a small unit.

Chapt 8 read, know and understand this before 7 & 9. This is where you will be first when the SHTF
