US Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton has a lot of nerves to both defend and deflect responsibility for her central role in turning Libya into a failed state.
She is free to blame President Barack Obama for the fiasco. But she cannot change the fact that as then secretary of state she was also a member of Team Obama. Moreover, NATO equally played a key role in the wrong decision to overthrow dictator Muammar Gaddafi and destroy Libya as a unitary state in 2011.
As maintained by Obama, “Failing to plan for the day after Gaddafi’s toppling was the worst mistake of my presidency.” Meaning, the War Party made the wrong decision at the time to “democratize” Libya. Worse yet, the War Party made yet another terrible decision to follow its Libya judgment in Syria: Getting actively involved with terrorist groups to overthrow and bring about regime change without fully understanding what the consequences of that regime change would be. Tragic enough, the same judgment was made in Yemen.
After all these years, the world still has every reason to be worried. The Empire of Chaos and its coalition of regime changers (Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain and Jordan) are still on the same path. They are selling fictitious “peace deals” to the people of the Middle East, while bombing their own colonies of terror and violence, as well as civilian targets, in Libya, Syria, Iraq and Yemen.
The fathers and mothers of destabilization and chaos are at the same time blaming each other after their “Biden Plan” to redraw the Middle East map backfired. They vainly spent years providing American weapons and petro-dollar cash to “moderate” terrorists, in futile hopes that they would “degrade and ultimately destroy” Iraq, Syria and Yemen, yet ironically ended up creating a medieval “caliphate” and sending millions of refugees to Fortress Europe.
For now, it is apparent that the War Party has no intention to apologize and change course. It is also painfully evident that every member of Team Obama happens to be on the defensive, which is exactly what Clinton is doing now.
Indeed, it is futile to deny the fact that in their eagerness to destroy Libya, Syria, Iraq and Yemen, and appease Israel, the War Party and its nation partners paved the way for the emergence of ISIL and so many other terror outfits. Although they are at the heart of the current inferno, they are still going everywhere with their bombs and guns, pretending to sell peace and security.
The fact that so many Western governments, regional partners and proxy forces are in league against Libya, Syria, Iraq and Yemen, is one clue that the US-led War on Terror is not what it purports to be: The defeat of ISIL is not really their goal. ISIL and its al-Qaeda soul mates have played right into the hands of Western foreign policy, acting as the vanguard in the Anglo-American-Israeli proxy war of attrition against the Muslim world.
In the same spirit, the ongoing peace talks in Syria and Yemen, although welcomed by many peace-loving nations, including Iran and Russia, are designed by the imperial planners to ensure that ISIL and Al-Qaeda “moderates” somehow continue in their original roles as straightforward terror gangs and some semi-governmental body administering territories. That says why they insist on having the “moderates” part of the peace talks. This suits the Anglo-American-Israeli governments and their nervous Arab cronies, which want to see the terror groups fully focused on destabilization. It’s a march of folly on the edge of regional abyss.
