Politicians Respond to Target Allowing Men Into Women’s Restrooms

(Before It's News)

People are not pleased that Target is now allowing men and women to use whichever bathroom they want. Of all the reactions I’ve seen to it, “I won’t be shopping at Target anymore” is at the top. Boycott is now the name of the game, and it’s not just Target’s former customers that seem to be calling for it. Politicians are now weighing in as well.

Mobile County Commissioner, Jerry Lee Carl, posted a very forward message on his Facebook in response to Target.

Do you really want your wives and daughters using the same restroom with every street freak that wants to wander in and look around! In my travels I have been in a couple of countries in Europe where the public restrooms are open to men and women. Words can not describe how uncomfortable it is trying to use the bathroom with 40 women watching! Now do you want your wives, daughters, and granddaughters put on display for all your buddy’s and street freaks to watch? I think not.

He paired it with an article I’ve listed here on RedState about a sexual predator recently claiming transgenderism to gain access to a women’s restroom, then finished with…

FYI : US government you can take your regulation on sharing bathrooms and the funding that goes along with it and plant it where the sun doesn’t shine! The well fair of these ladies are my responsibility therefor you can not borrow or print enough money to buy the privacy of my family! Signed Jerry Carl.

Representative Louie Gohmert of Texas went a step farther, and actually voiced his intent to never step foot in a Target again.

“Why not let the transgender, LGBT,Q,R,S,T — whatever the initials are — let them have their activities where they don’t impose upon the privacy of someone who wants to go to the restroom or shower without someone from the opposite sex being there with them.” said Gohmert on the floor.

As it stands, the transgender bathroom controversy has split along party lines. Even Ted Cruz weighed in on the issue stating “The idea that grown men would be allowed alone in a bathroom with little girls — you don’t need to be a behavior psychologist to realize that bad things can happen, and any prudent person wouldn’t allow that.”

The only republican who seems to not share this idea is Donald Trump, who stated people should “use the bathroom they feel appropriate.”
