In conjunction with the efforts of Whole Foods to provide Denver-area residents and schools with organic grass-fed beef, MassageSchoolSanDiego.com has produced a health benefits guide to encourage the eating of these healthy meats.

(PRWEB) October 21, 2012

Grocery store chain Whole Food Market has announced it will provide local organic, grass-fed meats to Denver-area schools and residents starting this month. To further encourage the eating of these healthy meats, MassageSchoolSanDiego.com, a strong supporter of raw organic foods, healthy living and massage therapy, has created a health benefits guide for grass-fed meat.

Thanks to Whole Foods Market, the RE-1 school district in the outskirts of Denver, Colorado, will receive organic grass-fed beef for its cafeteria lunches this year. Whole Foods has partnered with local sustainable food company Crystal River Meats for this effort as reported by Denver Westword. Crystal River Meats offers cattle and lamb meats that are grass-fed, free of antibiotics and hormones and certified natural by the USDA. Whole Foods will also begin offering local grass-fed meats in its 11 Denver-area store locations.

To further encourage the consumption of these healthy, organic meats, MassageSchoolSanDiego.com has created a guide to the health benefits of grass-fed beef:

  •     Less calories. According to AmericanGrassfedBeef.com, six ounces of steak from a grass-fed cow has an estimated 100 calories less than one that’s been grain-fed.
  •     More Omega-3 fatty acids. Grass-fed beef offers two to six times more Omega-3s than grain-fed beef.
  •     More antioxidants. Grass-fed beefs are high in vitamin E and other antioxidants.
  •     More conjugated linoleic acid (CLA.) Meat and milk from grass-fed animals is one of the best sources of CLA, a fat that studies suggest reduces chances of heart disease and cancer.

The RE-1 Independent School District is located in Gilcrest, Colorado, in Weld County. The district includes one high school, two middle schools and three elementary schools. Its superintendent is Dr. Jo Barbie.

Denver is the capital city of Colorado and is located in the central region of the state, in South Platte River Valley alongside the Rocky Mountains. It has an estimated population of 619,000 people. Denver was first founded in 1858 and was formerly known as Denver City.

Colorado is state in the Western portion of the United States. It is considered a part of the Four Corners, along with New Mexico, Arizona, and Utah. Colorado is the 8th largest state in the country, with more than 100,000 square miles of land. Its current population is 5.1 million.

In conjunction with Whole Foods’ efforts to bring organic grass-fed beef to Denver-area schools and residents, MassageSchoolSanDiego.com has produced a health benefits guide to grass-fed meats, in hopes of encouraging the increased consumption of these healthy items.
