Secular has no connection to danger or unpredictability, the complete opposite. It is equality based law that applies to all, rather than religious law that only applies to the religious and has nothing to do with the physical world. It is secular law that gives you the right to practice your religion. If secular didn’t exist who knows what will happen, eg the next president that is voted in, could outlaw your religion, and you would have nothing to argue your case. Secular law protects everyone.
