Why Is This Hong Kong Police Officer So Popular? (Video)

The Hong Kong police department has been holding daily press conferences since the start of thepro-democracy protests to provide updates.
A police spokesperson surnamed Hui has become a celebrity among bloggers who nicknamed him “Hui Sir” and have been making jokes about his catchphrase:
“I will now recap in English”
There are now several remix videos like this one, memes and sarcastic jokes like the one below, and even a Facebook page that got over 56,000 likes.
In fact, Hui Sir seems to be of more interest to people than the content of the press conferences… which might explain why he hasn’t been seen in the broadcasts recently.
But don’t be sad as officer Jiang promised in this video that Hui Sir will be back.
