After facing enormous pressure from fiscal losses, and confused investors, Nintendo today announced that the Wii U will ship worldwide (Japan, North America, Europe and Australia) this Holiday season.
The news came from Nintendo’s Satoru Iwata during an earnings report in Japan. He also announced the company’s plans to lower earnings forecasts for the Wii and 3DS following a depressing Q3 earnings report where sales drop substantially.
Originally, Nintendo planned to release the Wii’s successor between June and year end, but were faced with growing pressure emanating from the console’s failed debut at E3 that left investors and consumers confused about the console, and dropping sales of their other platforms like the Wii and even the 3DS.
