MakeMyTrip Comes Out With InstaBook To Save Time & Money; What About Security Though?

(Before It's News)

Online travel services company MakeMyTrip has added another feature to its website offering travelers to book their tickets instantly. Titled InstaBook, regular users will be able to book tickets without having to enter their details every time.

How does it work? Available only to registered users, InstaBook asks to store your financial credentials in the site’s database. Information like your credit card details & the counter-verification CVV number will then be used next time one books a ticket. Apparently, MakeMyTrip is justifying the feature by mentioning the time of booking airline tickets. Airlines routinely jack-up prices of their tickets as they near the capacity of the plane.

Even a few seconds saved can make a difference of Rs. 2000-3000 says Keyur Joshi, Co-founder and Chief Commercial Officer of MakeMyTrip, “InstaBook is part of our ongoing mission to reduce the effort involved as far as ticket booking goes, making it as easy and hassle-free as possible.”

However, with recent news of sites being targeted especially for their financial information such a feature may bring in more people with nefarious intent rather than genuine users. MakeMyTrip will have to rigorously advertise the safety features that are incorporated to prevent such critical financial information from landing into the wrong hands. Joshi is quick to assure that the data is very secure, “A user’s credit card details are stored in an encrypted form and we comply with the most stringent security measures accepted globally

Despite the obvious risks involved, MakeMyTrip is only following popular trends. Rival ClearTrip has already introduced a similar feature titled Expressway.

Apparently such a feature has already earned the approval of regular customers. Would our readers prefer putting in their financial information every time or would they rather save a few seconds by entrusting their credentials to such sites?
