It was a few months back when Toshiba first announced the Dynabook Satellite T652, and now it has gone on sale, but only in Japanese firm’s home market for now! The Dynabook Satellite T652 is a smart looking laptop, said be initially designed for students and business users, yet with the base specs and choice of options this laptop is capable of serving most markets even the competitive gamers market. Toshiba have been good in using the latest third generation Intel Core processors and Nvidia graphics cards, which means superb performance all round including game play! This laptop sort of borders on ultra book territory without claiming to be one of these popular machines, so it seems that Toshiba have created here a laptop that can be well suited across the board, which is something that you don’t see with all brands and models.
The Dynabook Satellite T652 features a medium sized 15.6 inch screen with wide LCD (16:9) HD, TFT colour, Clear SuperView, LED with LED power saving back light, with a 1366 x 768 of pixel resolutions and there the built in 1.0 mega pixel web camera too. It is powered by the third generation Intel Core i7-3610QM processor with 2.30 GHz up to 3.30 GHz using the Intel Turbo Boost Technology 2.0. It supports the Mobile Intel HM77 Express chipset and the graphics are coming from the NVIDIA GeForce GT 630M graphic card.
There is 4 GB of SDRAM PC3-12800 (DDR3-1600) internal memory and a 750 GB hard disk drive (HDD) with 5,400 rpm, Serial ATA support for storage. For communications there is the 100 Base-TX – 10 Base-T Ethernet LAN and IEEE 802.11 b/g/n Wireless LAN, while for connectivity there are four fast connecting USB 3.0 ports, HDMI out , LAN (RJ45) and RGB. The Dynabook Satellite T652 measures up at 27.7 mm to 31.4 mm (H) × 252.5 mm (D) x 385 mm (W) and it weighs in at a hefty 2.7 kilos with the lithium-ion battery pack installed that Toshiba claim will be good for up to 4.4 hours of power.
Currently we see that the converted starting price for the base model is just over $1,700, if this machine is to attack other markets, they may need to improve on that figure!
