(Before It's News)

Helixwebstore.com, an e-commerce site, has been launched by Timex Group India Limited  that specifically sells the Helix brand of watches. The company says that the online store offers approximately 100 SKUs.

VD Wadhwa, CEO and MD of Timex Group India Ltd, says that as the digital movement gains momentum in the way business is transacted, Helix (and thus Timex) want to stay ahead of the curve and be accessible and visible to the customers. This website will soon get integrated with the soon-to-be-launched Timex India e-commerce site.

Timex is not alone in its foray into the e-commerce space. More and more brands are looking to tap into the online shopping space as consumer trends are changing. The online shopping sector (inclusive of all categories) in India is set to grow at an unprecedented rate this year considering it grew on an average 18 percent in 2011.

In the recent past, big brands like Samsung and Nokia too have launched their online shopping sites to lure potential and existing customers. As far as watches are concerned, e-commerce sites like watchkart.com and ghadiwala.com give customers the opportunity to buy top brands as well as home-grown ones.

The timing of the launch of the Helix online store is pretty much in keeping with the trend of the e-commerce boom and keeping in mind how customers are taking to online shopping, the effort is bound to pay.
