(Before It's News)

News out of Korea>/a> from LG/Samsung surprise spoiler, MK.co.kr, says that LG’s Optimus G successor, (G2) is going to drop in early-ish 2013 alongside Samsung’s next-gen device in an effort to win back marketshare from the dominant Android manufacturer. The Optimus G2, as it is being called for now, will certainly top the scales as far as bleeding edge hardware goes thanks to a (rumored, of course) 5-inch 1080p display, 2 GHz quad-core Snapdragon Prime processor and Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie. The camera is said to be getting a healthy bump in performance and likely resolution. Finally, LTE junkies will be pleased to know new, 3rd-gen hardware will provide the insane data speeds this time around meaning more electrons can go towards powering the super fast processor and high resolution display.

LG has come under fire as of late (and their sales show that) for lackluster hardware design and software that does little to wow. While the software is still up in the air regarding “wow” factor, the rumored hardware above is certainly something to talk about, no? After the Nexus 4, we’ve regained some respect for LG. That said, we only hope their Nexus branded experience somehow transfers over to a more carrier-controlled model like the Optimus brand caters to. Here’s to hoping…
