After a year being in the closed Beta testing phase, the Online exam preparation service Examify has gone live for the public to test. Still in Beta phase, it is backed & mentored by angel investor Vishal Gondal.
What does the service offer?
Our readers will recall a similar endeavor launched by Airtel for its DTH service. Titled iExam, the service was meant to prepare students with virtual test series. Along the same lines, Examify is trying to bring in a comprehensive solution to exam preparation.
The service offers students to filter questions with practical tags like difficulty level, trending questions, most important, etc. However, given the extreme competitive nature of the students in India today, the portal also offers the ability to see what others are solving or trying.
How does the service differ from others?
Multiple companies have, in the past attempted this service. While Tata Docomo did it for IIT-JEE aspirants, Airtel had done it for Management candidates. Focusing on competitive exams, Examify covers CBSE, IGCSE, IB and ICSE Board, IIT-JEE and BITSAT examinations. Additionally the site offers performance measurement services at every juncture. This helps the students strive harder & gain competitive edge.
However, the uniqueness of the site lies in the way it sources content. Presently, it is purely a crowd-sourced model. Examify is currently collecting old examination test papers. It then processes the data related to questions through various algorithms to determine how likely it is for that particular question to appear or re-appear in an exam, based on parameters like its weight-age, concept, occurrences, popularity among users and other factors. To further ensure crowd-support, Examify also offers a ‘Popularity Meter’ that takes into account all these factors and accordingly assigns a Percentage Point rating to each question. Additionally, users are allowed to rate questions on difficulty levels too.
Students today need such readily accessible & customize solutions to prepare for some of the toughest competitive exams. Let’s see if Examify gets good grades from students.
PS: To use the service one will have to submit e-mail ID or Facebook ID to apply for an invite
