Google News mobile web app for Android and iOS has undergone a makeover with a bunch of new features and design. The latest update makes it easier for users to browser the feed at news.google.com as well as keep track of individual stories. Refreshed Google News will boast of a card-like design which might remind you of other mobile apps from Google.
It offers three new customized settings which lets users change the theme from light to dark, reduce or increase font sizes, and select larger-sized story cards with more information. Google also announced in a blog post that the new version will be rolling out “over the next few days” in the US, although the company says it plans to bring the same experience to all its international editions ‘soon.’
In addition, the new design of the Google News mobile web app includes several features from its desktop counterpart. Google added that it has brought over features from the desktop version of Google News, including a weather gadget in the Local section and the popular ‘Editors Picks’ option. Finally, as with all Google updates these days, the company is pushing its Google+ service into Google News, including social posts related to a story in the article cluster.
Last month, Google merged Google Currents App and Play Magazines to launch Google Newstand app. Also, Facebook updated its News Feed so that users see more high-quality articles about current events
