Bollywood movie streaming site, Spuul has partnered mobile payments company Boku for carrier billing. Boku will enable operator billing option for Airtel, Vodafone and Idea Cellular customers with Tata Docomo to be launched soon. Dubbed as Premium Lite, Spuul’s new subscription pack with ads is priced at Rs. 120. Also, users can even subscribe for the existing Rs 300 ad free subscription.
Speaking about the partnership with Boku, Prakash Ramchandani, CEO, Spuul India said, “Boku’s direct operator billing will help us strengthen billing relationships with our users to make it convenient for them to consume content on their tablets and mobile devices”.
Spuul announced the launch of its Kindle Fire app last week. The online video streaming service also tied up with India cast for Colors and MTV Channel.In September, Spuul teamed up with Star Network TV Shows from Star Plus and Star TV for online streaming. While in October, it added offline viewing for its Android app.
Meanwhile, Boku recently acquired India’s direct carrier billing company, Qubecell. This acquisition provided Boku with direct carrier billing connections to India’s four largest carrier networks as well as access to many key local merchants. Online streaming segment is picking up pace with growing number of audience accessing the TV from mobile devices.
