(Before It's News)

Online Real Estate Listings portal Housing.com has launched 3D Map interface to property listings.

Housing

To make Searching for, Buying and Selling properties online intuitive and  interesting, Housing.com has made a few advances for the ‘New Projects’ section on the portal. Typically meant for ‘Under Construction’ projects, the segment will bear 3D Map Interface for visitors and prospective buyers. Meant to help people discover and be interested in new projects, the 3D interface will allow visitors to peruse the listings in an interactive manner.

What has Housing.com added? Online Real Estate is a rapidly growing segment. Multiple players are busy adding innovative as well as highly relevant features such as location aware listings and what not. But Housing.com has taken the online experience a notch above.

Bringing in a sense of a physical visit, combined with the power of augmented reality, Housing.com’s New Projects showcases custom made 3D models of buildings superimposed on Google maps. Visitors are even treated to an interactive aerial view of project sites. If that’s not awe-inspiring, serious buyers can even slice away the models to reveal detailed Floor Plans for all flats / apartments in a project.

Such feature–additions are sure to bring a big change in the perception and appeal of the properties. These interactive floor plans should certainly give people a very clear idea about the structure and design of the project that hasn’t even begun taking shape. To top it all, Housing.com has even added ‘Community Details’ and ‘Nearby Features’ that should serve as an easy guide to decide why it is a good buy.

Real Estate has always struggled with the idea of explaining the layouts of the final building and apartments to people on the 2D Maps or Brochures. But these techniques bear the potential to significantly introduce a sense of realism via a virtual interface. What do you think?
