ROSELAND, N.J. – May 13, 2014 – ADP®, a leading global provider of Human Capital Management (HCM) solutions, today announced that it has been listed on the 2014 Working Mother Best Companies for Multicultural Women. This marks the company’s initial appearance on the list. Recently the company was also ranked in the top 25 on the 2014 DiversityInc Top 50 Companies for Diversity list.
“ADP is keenly aware that sustained business performance is only possible when we recruit and retain a diverse mix of the best talent,” said Rita Mitjans, Chief Diversity & Corporate Social Responsibility officer at ADP. “We are committed to continuing to offer an inclusive culture that unlocks value for our company, our associates and our clients. This award is an acknowledgement that our efforts in nurturing diversity are succeeding.”
Dawn Steele, of African-American descent, joined ADP seven years ago as a corporate counsel, was promoted to senior corporate counsel, and today is vice president and managing counsel for ADP’s Added Value Services business unit. She notes, “ADP has a well-balanced workforce with different views – and hues – ages, and backgrounds. There is a real focus here on diversity that has the support of management at all levels.”
The Working Mother Best Companies for Multicultural Women application is only available to companies that have at least 500 U.S. employees. The 2014 Best Companies for Multicultural Women employ more than 2.7 million workers with almost 32,000 worksites across 50 states in the following 7 industries: Consumer Products, Financial Services, Hospitality, Insurance, Professional Services, Retail and Technology. The winners were selected based on their answers to an extensive questionnaire covering representation; hiring, attrition, and promotion rates; recruitment, retention, advancement programs; and company culture. The Working Mother Research Institute creates a scoring algorithm based on the previous year’s benchmark results to determine the winners.
“Recruiting and nurturing a multicultural talent base is more than just doing the right thing,” said Dermot O’Brien, Chief Human Resources Officer at ADP. “It is a core strategic business practice that makes our company stronger by getting the best and most diverse blend of skills and perspectives. Finding and developing talent from varied backgrounds makes ADP much more competitive in the marketplace.”
