If you join science in the hope to find something to believe in, then you’re on a wrong track. Science is not a matter of belief, but only of different opinions.
Science may appear as a belief by individual scientists turning into belief in their own opinions, but these are just cases of exaggeration of their own opinions. There actually isn’t a single opinion that can’t be turned over by its orthogonal opposite.
Science actually can’t be turned into a belief as long as it is rational (ie, does not contradict itself), because rationality can’t be unambiguous. It can just dance around the void middle forever.
Science is thus not a matter of belief, but merely a rational way to handle reality practically. It is just a craft, like carpentry. Don’t be fooled by the “scientists” that want to give the impression that science can lead into the promised land; I assure you that it can’t.
In the competition with beliefs, science is thus totally impotent.
