Amy Winehouse’s dad still text his daughter asking her to come home. In an interview with the British magazine Grazia Mitch admits “Sometimes I text her telling her to come home. But she's never coming home and I'm going to have to deal with that for the rest of my life.”
Amy Winehouse died July 23, 2011 at the age of 27 from alcohol poison. The singer had fought a battle against drugs and won. But when it came to her battle with alcohol she could not overcome the addiction. Amy Winehouse has overdosed on drugs and suffered from seizures during her lifetime. Despite her constant battle with illicit drugs and alcohol, she was an amazing songwriter and singer. She enjoyed success in England and internationally.
Mitch (Amy Winehouse’s dad) constantly worried about the songstress. Mitch admits to Grazia “In a way, subconsciously, it's a relief that I don't have to keep checking up on Amy” He further explain “I'm not going through that pain every night, wondering if she is going to die, what she's doing, or if she is in trouble. There was a time in the midst of her drug addiction when she could have died on several occasions and I was always worried about her.”
