Witness Statement: I was walking between accommodation blocks within the college area. It is normal to view army helicopters performing training exercises from the nearby army base, however this sighting was particularly strange. I viewed what I believed to be a Chinook helicopter (distinctive sound), but flying parallel to it, around 200 meters away was a bright white light. It moved with the helicopter as if it was attached with a rod, yet the distance between the two was too far to be an extended attachment. The light was certainly close enough to be in full view of the flying personnel. It was only in view as it flew over the college. I understand that this sighting is little use as I struggle to remember the exact date and time, I should have reported it sooner.
