Mike C. & I Discuss Possible Celebrity Abductees

(Before It's News)

Had a lively email exchange with my friend Mike Clelland about how abductees (most of whom keep their experiences a dire secret, or who may not even realize they're abductees) in the entertainment field effect our culture.

If you think about it, many of the issues and themes that abduction brings up would then infiltrate the collective meme. Several celebrities have come forward (actors, singer/musicians) to admit to this truth in their lives, even though of course they got made fun of for it. (You can look it up online to see who I'm talking about here.) But there are also the writers of fiction. Novelists, screenwriters, and comic book creators who are also abductees have a wide range of ways to explore ideas and issues they have regarding what has happened to them and what they've witnessed. And yes, it comes through in their work which then influences the culture as a whole.

It seems as though this possibility has been too ignored when it comes to critics who claim that everyone who says they're abductees, even way back in the 60s or 70s, was just copying ideas (consciously or subconsciously) from certain movies, comic books, TV shows, etc. That these things could have been produced by someone who was abducted by aliens themselves never seems to occur to them!

And yet-!

Many researchers and abductees have known for some time that entertainers and writers are included in these numbers. And yes, those that are and admit to it (if only secretly to a very select group of people) also admit that their experiences do in fact color many of the things they write about and influence how they approach some performances.

The culture of ridicule is so pervasive, however, that few will ever step forward until the moment arrives where its so obvious that aliens are real and here that everyone stops laughing. I don't know whether that moment will ever arrive. (The aliens say so, for whatever that's worth.) But its something that bears thinking about on occasion for those of us who deal with these issues on a regular basis.
