Ultra Blue & Lavender

(Before It's News)

As you may well have guessed by now, we picked up the keys and began the next era of our life on Monday!

Gerick and I met with Tad & Darcy, packed up stuff to camp with in the house, and supplies for painting and fixing a temporary pen for the chickens, and headed out. After the guys set up the pen and I had taped up 2 rooms for painting, we relaxed at our new home– looking at the views and walking around and occasionally jumping up and down and squealing (okay, Gerick's not a squealer, but he was smiling!) Eventually, we put on some tunes, broke out the wine, and had ourselves a party!

It was a fun night, lots of dancing and silliness until well after midnight. Then we put the movie Divergent on the projector and watched it on the ceiling from our beds camped out in the rec room.

The next morning, Gerick and I ran out to get some more supplies and then later my friend Camilla came by and we got to work! She and I painted Gerick's den a dark ultra blue and then our bedroom in lavender. It was an all day job, especially the dark blue, which didn't spread as evenly and took a couple of coats and some touch ups to complete. Meanwhile, Gerick worked on various smaller projects around the house, getting things done before move-in later this Saturday.

I still have another room to do later in the week (Tess will be helping me at that point) but I feel pretty good knowing some painting will be completed before we bring in furniture and boxes! Once you're in a space surrounded by STUFF, its too complicated and difficult to paint. We have time with the rest of the house but close-in rooms-? I know us… =^)

Lots of help volunteered to come in this weekend for the move with the truck rental. I'll just be working on small fragile stuff to be put in cars and then putting things away. I've pretty much scheduled Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday for me to DIE after all the strenuous efforts I'm putting my body through! I tell you, handling this amount of physical labor and complex short-term memory calculations is quite taxing for someone with my issues. I just hope I don't flare too badly beyond the post-exertional malaise I know to expect already. I have shit to do and would rather contribute this next week while things HAVE to be done right and in a timely manner! That's one reason I volunteered to paint my husband's den first, my little way of saying 'thank you' to the guy who does so much when I can't.

And now-? I've had a very long and hot shower and mean to pour myself into bed!
