Witness Statement: I had to collect a prescription from the chemist in Bronshill rd Torquay but was too early. I couldn’t park near the chemist so I pulled into Lords Place a short distance away. This is close to my home so I know the area very well. As I parked I straight away noticed a star like light above the horizon toward Marldon. I thought it odd because there was high and dense cloud, it was also very dark. I didn’t think much of it until I noticed another, much brighter light descend below the horizon, which is the brow of a hill lined with houses on the outskirt of town. I always have binoculars in the car so I thought I’d have a closer look. What I witnessed for the next 25 minutes was truly puzzling and without the glasses I would have missed most of it. There were 2 stationary lights, 1 was a few degrees above the horizon, the other was to my left and higher in the sky. There were also very bright flashes to the far right. I could see several other objects moving around between the 2. While the 2 stationary lights remained constant, the others would be very dim but have bursts of very bright white light. 2 of the moving objects were a dull red and very large. I could follow them as they slowly moved toward the static ones and when they got close they burst into a very intense white light and dimmed out again, this was repeated many times but never in exactly the same place. There just seemed to be so much going on up there. I have no idea of what distance they were from me. Beyond the hill, which was my horizon, is mainly open farm-land. I can rule out drones, I would have seen nothing from that distance. Helicopters don’t really fit the bill either. I also can’t think of anything that can generate such powerfully intense light. After nearly half an hour I had to go and it was still going on. There were no events or shows at the time and I checked this morning to make sure there was nothing but sky in the area I was watching.
