Did something new this evening– I went to the top of the tallest building in Seattle to join some other people for a board gaming charity event. It was free, but donations went to Seattle Children's Hospital, which was pretty cool. Cat does their art logos, so she gets in free, and I snuck in on her coat-tails.
We were in a corner club room with booths and tables, and I joined a group of 7 other people to play a card game, “Joking Hazard” based on these 2 cartoon guys. The name of the game was to come up with the most amusing 3 panel hand of cards as a story compared to others. (You draw the first card from the deck, then the dealer- who changes every turn- plays the second card from their own deck, then everyone else comes up with the end card, and the dealer chooses the best one blindly.) Didn't even come close to winning, but had a good time.
The views were AMAZE-BALLS, and there were rain storms competing with a setting sun, so we got treated to rainbows galore from up there, which meant being able to see rainbows as full circles!! Pretty farking awesome! The sunset was also beautiful from up there, and it was nice to just feel on top of the world for a few hours.
Only drawback? The ride up and down the elevator, along with the air pressure changes from the storms, wreaked havoc on my sinuses. I had a terrible headache by the time we were leaving Seattle for home.
Still worth it! =^)
