What do you think of this for a hidden storage space idea?

Comment #1: I once owned a home previously owned by a cop. The stairs to the basement were carpeted, but the one at the top was hinged and opened to a compartment. I’m sure he kept a spare pistol in there.
Comment #2: Just hope no one leaves a drawer open in the middle of the night when your coming down the stairs. lol It could be a bad idea!
Comment #3: I Love It! But this is noting new. This was used during WWII and the Depression to hide the food you didn’t want the government to know that you had. My mom told me stories of hiding sugar and flour in the stairs during the depression.
Comment #4: Looks like a death trap to me!! My luck that drawer would be open just enough for me to get my foot hung in it and I would break something important, lol. Other than that, way COOL.
