Troy Rosasco, Partner, Turley, Redmond, Rosasco & Rosasco, LLP, has announced that he was inducted as a Fellow in the national College of Workers’ Compensation Lawyers at the organization’s annual dinner in New Orleans on March 12, 2016.

Fellows of the College of Workers’ Compensation Lawyers must meet the highest ethical and professional standards, have at least 20 years of experience practicing workers’ compensation and shown significant evidence of scholarship, teaching, lecturing and/or distinguished published writings on workers’ compensation or related fields of law.

Mr. Rosasco concentrates his practice in workers’ compensation claims, Social Security Disability claims and 9/11 Victim Compensation Fund claims. He has represented more than 10,000 injured and disabled workers in his career. In 2014, he was named to the list of New York Metro Super Lawyers.

In addition, he is an Adjunct Professor of Workers’ Compensation and Disability Law at St. John’s University School of Law, where he established the John Sciortino Memorial Scholarship for Excellence in Labor and Employment Law. The scholarship is named for his late dear friend who was the Founding Partner of Segar & Sciortino and President of the New York State Injured Workers’ Bar Association.

Mr. Rosasco is a frequent lecturer to other attorneys and has presented Continuing Legal Education (CLE) programs for the New York State Bar Association, the Bar Association of the City of New York, the National Organization of Social Security Claimants’ Representatives (NOSSCR), Lawline, the National Academy of CLE, and the Queens, Nassau County and Suffolk County Bar Associations.

Mr. Rosasco has authored over 25 articles on workers’ compensation and disability law for various legal periodicals, including the ABA General Practice Section Newsletter, the Queens Lawyer, the Nassau Lawyer and the Suffolk Lawyer. He co-authored the Legal Advisory chapter in Warren, Gorman & Lamont’s Workers’ Compensation Guide with Prof. David Gregory of St. John’s Law School.

Mr. Rosasco is a Founder of the New York Workers’ Compensation Alliance, a former Executive Board Member of the New York State Injured Workers’ Bar Association, a former Board Member of NOSSCR, a former Director of the Nassau County Bar Association and a current member of the Nassau County Bar Association’s Grievance Committee.

He is a graduate of Cornell University’s School of Industrial & Labor Relations and St. John’s University School of Law. He is a member of both the New York State and New Jersey Bar Associations and is admitted to practice before the federal courts of the Eastern District of New York and the Second Circuit Court of Appeals. He is a Member of the Board of Directors of the National MS Society, Long Island Chapter and resides in St. James, where he is active in the Boy Scouts of America.

The College of Workers’ Compensation Lawyers has been established to honor those attorneys across the country who have distinguished themselves in their practice in the field of workers’ compensation. Members have been nominated for the outstanding traits they have developed in their practice for 20 years of longer representing plaintiffs and/or defendants, serving as judges or acting for the benefit of all in education, overseeing agencies and developing legislation. These individuals have convinced their peers, the bar, bench and the public that they possess the highest professional qualifications and ethical standards.

“It is an honor to be inducted as a Fellow in the College and be recognized for my work on behalf of injured workers,” Mr. Rosasco said. “As an attorney practicing for more than two decades in this field, it is satisfying to know that I have contributed to making sure that not only my clients obtain all the benefits they deserve, but that I have also helped make the workers ‘compensation system in New York better for all citizens of the state.”
