We Stand With Phil Robertson And The Duck Dynasty
I apologize ahead of time but this has to come out, so please bear with me. RANT ON: I have had it with the lame stream media! Our Constitution allows for individuals to have freedoms which include the freedom of speech and the freedom to practice whatever religion you believe in without fear of persecution. This is what our forefathers wanted. I personally don’t care what you believe in, but as long as you can behave like an adult and respect my beliefs, then we can live happily ever after.
While there are people out there who publicly spew hatred of people’s skin color or religion and they are allowed to have parades about it. Phil Robertson of Duck Dynasty was speaking about his views from his religious beliefs and was shot down by A&E. This occurred during an interview with another media source who posed the question and Mr. Robertson spoke of what he believed in. This is not a new concept in this country. The television networks did not have a problem with airing vulgar and derogatory performances in front of families with their children during the music awards, so why does A&E feel it is appropriate to punish a man for his religious beliefs?
While these is so much going on in our country right now, you can just wonder where we are headed. There are individual freedoms we have already lost and we continue to lose on a daily basis. While we still live in the greatest nation on the face of the planet, there are countries where you are stoned to death for looking at someone the wrong way, let alone speaking your mind. So we should all be thankful we don’t live in that mess. But again, corporations feel it is necessary to make their own rules.
In the end, we have our brave military men and women who put their lives on the line everyday defending this country and the Constitution it was based upon. So I say to A&E and all the other television networks; DO NOT let the lives of those who made the ultimate sacrifice have been lost in vain. Allow those to stand for their beliefs as long as it does not go outside of the law. You do not make the law or interpret it to fit your needs. RANT OFF
I hope the Duck Dynasty folks can maybe find a new home that will allow them to continue to be themselves. If everyone was able to live a peaceful life while hunting, fishing, and having fun, I think we would be a lot happier as a society. There is a lot that can be learned from them.
