Overnight tonight into Saturday morning, expected the conditions to deteriorate across the United Kingdom as the storm front moves through. Given the upper divergence and instability values, thunderstorms are likely with the front. Projected rainfall totals won’t be a total washout, but given the storms that hit this season already it likely is the most stormiest season in history for this region so any rain is flooding rain as many areas are flooded already.
Western UK will receive 25 to 50mm of rainfall with this system, the majority of the UK seeing 6 to 25mm on average and some parts in the east seeing under that. London likely at the 6 to 25mm mark with this passing front.
Winds will be strong with this, reaching 96 km/hr with the front for the Southern UK overnight tonight and into Saturday morning, calming some and then another blast of damaging winds over the same spots again later Saturday into Saturday night.
The Scottish Mountains will receive 125 to 200mm of snowfall on average, with the highest peaks receiving over that.
Damaging 3- to 50 foot waves are expected on the West and South coast of both Ireland and the United Kingdom over the weekend …
