Weather Alert Central.com – Numerous storm systems are expected to hit the Pacific Northwest this next week, with one of them producing gusty winds along the front and flooding likely, especially west of the Cascade Range.
Storm systems are lining up across the Pacific and the jet stream seems to be aiming at Oregon and Washington this next week. On Sunday the first of the fronts moves into Northwest Washington, but overnight then into Monday the front moves further toward the Seattle/Portland zones, stretching down into Northern California as well. This front will bring some moderate to sometimes heavy precipitation with it.
The largest front however will be associated with a strong 985mb surface low near Vancouver Island on Tuesday evening into the night. This will bring gusty winds to the coasts of Washington and Oregon, with some gusty winds making it inland into Portland and Seattle. Weather Alert Central.com does not issue wind warnings as part of the lineup at the moment, but we may be needing a Flood Watch over the alert system for Western WA and OR should the storms continue their path.
Off and on showers/storm activity likely through the end of the week.
All and all it looks like an eventful period, especially with the Tuesday/Wednesday storm system as a strong surface low means gusty winds.
