A significant winter storm for some parts of the Southern tier of the United States will impact tomorrow (Monday), bringing areas of significant snow, significant ice, and flooding. Find out where your area is by reading on.
Our map clearly shows the outlook Monday morning before sunrise through Monday night, displaying where we believe the snow/ice/rain line will be. First and foremost and ICE STORM will hit the Southern half of Arkansas, including Little Rock, into Southeastern OK, stretching through the Southern half of TN and into Northwest MS as well. This ice storm will cause a lot of damage, along with gusty winds so power lines will be taken down with downed trees. Prepare now if in the Ice Storm Shading Zones on the map. Furthermore, the Carolina region across Northwest SC into Central/Eastern NC will be monitored for an ice storm as well. Be advised if in this area.

Secondly, significant snowfall above 7″ or higher is likely for Southeast MO into most of Kentucky. The winner in the snowfall with this storm will be the state of Kentucky!. Heavy snowfall is likely early Monday for Missouri as well … but other than that non-significant snowfall is expected for areas north of there.
Heavy rain is likely across the south in the green-shaded zones. Some numbers showing Jackson, MS seeing a bit of ice mixing in behind the front … so we’ll keep an eye on that one just in case.
