Alert: Southwest US Monsoon To Ramp Up This Weekend into This Next Week
The Arizona Monsoon (Southwest USA Monsoon) will ramp up starting this weekend and maximize through this next week, bringing heavy shots of showers and thunderstorms through California, Nevada, Utah, Arizona, and New Mexico so read on for details.
This intrusion will bring numerous shower/thunderstorm activity to the Southwestern United States. The forecast released months ago here at NWF indicated that this Summer would feature an above normal monsoonal flow and this seems to be happening … where this particular intrusion will strike the Southwest with large scale effects starting this weekend and lasting through the next week after that.
Because the main ridge will be over Utah, the flow over AZ/CA will be out of the east/southeast and this means moisture will make it to the coasts of Southern California as well as all of NV and into the Sierra Nevada Mountain Range …
