A Texas family is devastated after losing a father of four in a terrible tragedy.
Juan Urrita, 65, was mowing his family’s yard in Bexar County last Thursday when police believe the vibration and noise of the riding mower disturbed and agitated a swarm of bees that had created a hive in a rarely viewed side of the house.
The bees quickly swarmed Urrita and his brother Frank who was also working in the yard. The brothers, who were now both retired, were both stung, but Juan Urrita was stung numerous times. By the time paramedics arrived, Urrita was no longer breathing, as his airway had closed up.
Though he was rushed to the hospital he did not survive, and family learned of his death as they arrived at the hospital.
