Quite possibly the #1 frozen dessert across the globe, ice cream holds a special place in the hearts of millions of people. Whether you’re eating it in a cup, a cone, or mounted atop your birthday cake, it holds the power to be the highlight of your day.
But – is it killing you?
There are a number of companies that have chosen to use contaminated milk in their ice cream products. By “contaminated,” I’m talking about the traces of rBGH left in the milk ingredients that go into ice cream.
In case you don’t know RBGH, or recombinant bovine growth hormone, alters the hormonal activity of cows to increase milk production. It is quite possibly the most unnatural way of acquiring milk from a cow.
The worst part is that a lot of the milk that we get from affected animals still have traces of the hormone left inside – the application of which results in udder infections and pus in the cows affecting the quality of their milk. So, why is it being used in ice cream?
List of Brands Still Using rBGH Milk:
These are a few of the bigger name companies that are still using milk treated with rBGH in America.
Funnily enough, the hormone is already being banned all over the world. Restrictions for its use have already been put in place up in Canada, out in Australia, New Zealand, as well as all of the countries in the European Union. Why is America taking so long to follow suit?
It is more than the ice cream. Meat and poultry have had it for years, How else do you explain the size of American people today?
It’s the topping!
Look out! My Rocky Road has got a knife!
