Prevailing Wage Law Could be Repealed in Wisconsin

That law determines pay rates for workers on public works projects in the state. Critics say it uses a system that sets wages artificially high, at the expense of taxpayers and to the frustration of public officials trying to stay on budget.

Rep. Rob Hutton (R-Brookfield) held a press conference on Wednesday, April 1, 2015 to discuss the issue and talk about current bills that would repeal the law. He said leadership in the legislature is still trying to determine whether to include the change in the budget or pass it as separate legislation.
