Authorities are reporting multiple casualties at Umpqua Community College in Roseburg. Initial reports have the shooter neutralized and at least 7 people reported killed and approximately 20 are wounded.
Local emergency managers in the area are advising people to stay away from the site. The shooting reportedly began at 10:38 a.m. (Pacific) at Snyder Hall, the science building on a campus of 3,000 students.
Roseburg, Oregon, the site of UCC, is a city of about 22,000 people located 180 miles south of Portland.
UCC’s website and social media accounts are down at this time.
The Douglas County Sheriff advises students and faculty members are being bused to the Douglas County Fairgrounds and can be picked up there.
