(Before It's News)

Greetings Saints and Ain’ts:

I am one of the newer contributors or writers on Before It’s News. I appreciate the set up and opportunity to share news and views. But there sure is a variety of “interesting” things to read, isn’t there?

Today is the 500th day since French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius said “500 days to avoid climate chaos.” While I think it was wise to consider what he said, his comment could have been a prediction of his, a ploy or stunt, or perhaps he just didn’t communicate clearly. He is not a pastor, so he was not trying to prophesy in some way in that regard. Thankfully nothing has happened, but this leads me into my next concern…

Of course we wannabe writers have the right to write (say that 10 times real fast) what we want to write about. But when it comes to making prophesies for the Lord, we don’t have that right in a biblical sense. In the opinion of this currently inactive pastor, no one has the gift of prophecy in the sense of the foretelling of events. We have the sufficient word of God and it seems to me that the gift of prophecy is now the “forthtelling” of God’s word. But regardless of where a Christian stands on the gift of prophecy, one thing is for sure, a prophet of God is never wrong. And if they are wrong even one time, then they are proving that it is not of God and they are not a prophet. Let’s stick with what is in God’s word the bible and what we actually see and hear. We have a national debt that is around 18 trillion 400 billion dollars. This is a real problem with real consequences. We don’t know how it will all unfold, so we prepare as much as we can and encourage others to do the same.

But let’s remember who is in control. It is not the U.S. Government. It is not the U.N. It is not the CFR or Bilderberg Group. And for those of us in the U.S. it not “we the people.” It is the God of the universe, all-powerful, all-knowing, and everywhere-present. The One who created us, and redeemed a people through the perfect life, sufficient sacrifice, and glorious resurrection of the God-man Jesus Christ who paid the penalty of sins and satisfied the wrath of the Father on behalf of all those who have a repentant faith in who He is and what He did.

This doesn’t mean we don’t use God-given wisdom. And as I have said over and over like a broken record, God ordains the means as well as the end. So we do what we can do by His grace while trusting in God to accomplish His will and good pleasure. To God be the glory!
