The Former Nobel Boss Just Revealed The TRUTH About Obama’s Nobel Peace Prize
The decision to award the Nobel Peace Price to Barack Obama was a “mistake,” according to the former secretary of the committee.
Geir Lundestand, the former secretary, writes in his book that Obama did not even want to come pick up the prize.
He also said: “Even many of Obama’s supporters believed that the prize was a mistake in that sense the committee didn’t achieve what it had hoped for.”
Furthermore, Lundestand writes that the award was given to boost Obama.
Obama’s staff even investigated whether other recipients of the award had skipped receiving it–but discovered this has only rarely happened.
In granting the award, the committee cited Obama’s efforts to support international bodies, build ties with the Muslim world, promote nuclear disarmament and fight climate change.
Mohamed ElBaradei, director-general of the UN International Atomic Energy Agency and himself a recipient of the prize, stated: ‘In less than a year in office, he has transformed the way we look at ourselves and the world we live in and rekindled hope for a world at peace with itself.”
Recipients of the esteemed prize include former President Theodore Roosevelt, former President Woodrow Wilson, Albert Schweitzer, and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
