On Thursday, a “free speech zone” at the University of Missouri became the scene of an assault when a a black activist punched a street preacher, whose brand of truth was something that the mob ruling the campus did not want to hear.
“I can no longer stand on the outside of this,” posted Jake Loft, who said he was a campus associate for Fox News and witnessed the incident. “A man of God was assaulted in our ‘free speech zone’ on campus by someone associated with a group of African American Communists from New York for simply using his First Amendment rights to spread the word of God.”
“This protest has become an attack on free speech and it is wrong,” wrote Loft.
I can no longer stand on the outside of this. A man of God was assaulted in our “free speech zone” on campus by someone…

Jesse Morrell, a Christian open-air preacher, carrying a Bible, and a sign referencing Hebrews 5:9, proclaimed his message as he approached the so-called Speaker’s Circle.
Then things got ugly.
“…because I said Michael Brown died for disrespecting the police, I got popped in the mouth a few times and other students kinda pulled this guy away,” Morrell is heard saying on one video. Brown was the black man killed in the 2014 Ferguson, Mo., incident that touched off waves of racial violence.
Morrell described his attacker as a black male with dreadlocks.
A video of the scene after Morrell was punched, uploaded by Periscope user Jeff Rakestraw, shows the preacher continuing to talk about abortion, homosexuality, and Muslim immigration in Europe. A group of activists are shown raving about “violence and rapes against black and brown people.”
“So what happened was, the guy who is talking now punched the guy that’s holding the sign and talking about Jesus in the mouth, which is really horrible,” the man recording the Periscope video said.
The video opens with a white woman inciting students.
“I’m sure none of you guys came to this campus hoping to be in a middle of a fistfight by the white supremacist,” she yelled. She later attacks “white supremacy here at Mizzou, over at Yale, (and) up at Ithaca,” before insisting that “this isn’t a question of free speech.”
The black man then speaks on the video. The Periscope user identified him as the man who punched Morrell. The man claims the problem isn’t “whoever came here and punched him in the face, it’s the speech and we allow that to happen.”
