(Before It's News)

We wanted to let you know how fortunate you are to be able to choose Michele Bachmann as your representative in Congress. As a mayor and commissioner for Minnesota’s first community, Michele has been an incredible advocate for the families and businesses of Stillwater.

Stillwater wanted to replace the lift bridge that so many of us have come to know as a defining characteristic of our town, but one that no longer serves its purpose. For the past 20 years, we’ve been navigating a complicated process to address the needs of our area. Due to special interest groups’ lawsuits and appeals, we at time found ourselves frustrated and wondering if the bridge would be a reality.

However, in Congress, Michele was the one who led a group of bipartisan representatives, senators and governors from both sides of the St. Croix River to pass the bill and cut the red tape. We saw her working overtime to make sure the bridge meets the area’s needs for now, and the future.

There are many people in Stillwater who thought they would never see a new bridge. Because of Michele’s work, many of them will in 2014.

Washington Commissioner Gary Kreisel
Stillwater Mayor Ken Harycki
